Email Notifications: Owner Alerts and Respondent Confirmations
A form's Settings tab can email you on every new response and auto-reply to the respondent — both with a full rich text editor, not a plain-text box.
1. Notify me on new responses
Turn on Notify me on new responses in a form's Settings tab and Orbiform emails you a summary every time someone submits — by default to your account email, or a different address you set.
2. Confirmation email to respondent
Turn on Confirmation email to respondent and Orbiform auto-replies to whichever email address they submitted. If your form has more than one email question, pick which one holds the respondent's address.
3. Editing the email
Click Edit email to open the composer in a modal: a subject line plus a rich text body with bold, italic, underline, headings, bulleted and numbered lists, links, and images — formatted the same way whether you read the email in Gmail, Outlook, or anywhere else. Leave the subject or body blank to keep Orbiform's sensible default (a table of every answer for the owner email, a short thank-you for the respondent one).
5. Inserting custom HTML
For anything the toolbar doesn't cover — a table, a specific layout, a tracking pixel — use Insert HTML to paste raw markup directly into the body. Orbiform sanitizes it before saving and before sending (scripts, iframes, and inline event handlers are stripped), so it's safe to paste HTML from an external source.
6. If emails aren't sending
These toggles always save, but sending requires SMTP to be configured on your Orbiform instance. If you see a note about SMTP not being configured, this is a server-side setting, not something fixable from the dashboard — ask whoever manages your Orbiform deployment to set it.
